Sapphires Community Performance Group

Formed in 2014, the Sapphires are a recreational performing group that meet weekly to train, learn, and rehearse choreography. Invitations are extended each summer to dancers 3rd grade and above that showcase a positive attitude, exemplary attendance record, and passion for dance.

Sapphires dancers are required to take two classes per week in genres of their choosing as well as a weekly Sapphires class. Known for their entertaining performances in jazz, modern, and musical theatre, the Sapphires can be seen out and about in the community at assisted living centers, the Cumming Fair, and Inspire performances each February at the Gas South Arena.

Every spring, the Sapphires also host a black box benefit performance. Nearly $6,000 has been raised for non-profit organizations such as Operation Christmas Child, Ohmadyt Children's Hospital in Kiev, CASA of Forsyth County, Super Science Kids, Heart for Africa, and more.

Other yearly activities include team bonding events, workshops with guest instructors, and awards luncheon.

The Sapphires program is a great stepping stone for our dancers aspiring to audition for Sawnee Ballet Theatre (SBT) as well as a great performance home for our dancers not as involved in ballet.
