Maria Cull was a vibrant and social mother, wife, sister, Nana, aunt, and friend who loved living life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, cheering on her favorite teams, and afternoon tea with family and friends. She also greatly appreciated the arts. Maria loved theater, especially the annual trip to the local Watford Panto and twice-yearly trips to see musicals in London.

Maria valued the impact organized activities would have on her children's lives in preparing them for the future. Therefore, all her children participated in some sort of team related endeavor. Her daughter grew up dancing, playing soccer, and participating in Girlguiding. Her two sons were also in scouts as well as being involved with both their school and local club teams for cricket, rugby, and soccer. These activities were not only an outlet for the three Bromwich children's energy and competitiveness, but also an opportunity for life lessons including, but not limited to, dedication, accountability, and collaboration.

Maria was such an instrumental part of helping Miss Courtney and her husband, David Bromwich, realize their dreams of becoming small business owners with Sawnee School of the Arts. To commemorate her life, the studio awards one graduating senior a $1,000 scholarship towards life each school year.*

Applicants for the Maria Cull Memorial Scholarship are asked to submit an essay, in 1,000 words or less, describing how Sawnee School of the Arts has played an instrumental part in your life, how the lessons you have learned through your time at the studio will carry you through the rest of your life, and how you would benefit from being a recipient of this scholarship.
